Default Prices On Items for Sale

As a suggestion, could a rule be introduced whereby people advertising items on this forum include a price in their advert.

It's something which is vigourously enforced on the S2Forum and seems to work very well.

What about the old "offers?" listings? I can see an issue with "PM me for a price" listings as they are just a little bit bizarre to say the least. Besides, I have items I want to sell but have NFI how much to ask for them.

And from what I have seen as a 'Johnny come lately' here, I certainly DO NOT want this place to be like the 'other places'

Good point.
I'm going to raise this with the moderators.

It's enforced keenly as Steve says and is fairer , if you have NFI then fiary snuff but don't use it as a smokescreen

How do we know if the price is right or what the going rate is??

Will there be a FAQ or "SRP" with prices, maybe something we can build as we go along?

The reason I'm asking is that in 2 hours I'm taking delivery of a complete driveline (WR engine, gearbox, shaft, rear diff), suspension parts for 2 cars, 3 boot lids, 1 big cardboard box of "stuff", 3 buckets of misc. engine parts incl. turbo, manifold and a complete exhaust... Engine requires a big overhaul but the rest require only a little work to become usable... 2 sets of wheels - not original, one set is a split rim..

All for around £ 1.800,-

Cheap or expensive ???

If the price is right people are likely to buy, if it's not then they'll tell you it's expensive or it simply won't sell. If you want advice on prices then post in the appropriate section of the forum i.e. RR, MB, WR etc and then when you have your info. you can post in the For Sale thread.

As for the above, you obviously thought it was worth it otherwise you wouldn't have bought it. So any further comments after the purchase are irrelavent IMHO and one other thing to remember as we often say on here, 'it's only worth what someone is willing to pay'.

True, but since I'm a complete rookie on parts prices for the UR I'm probably also an easy target

I don't need any of the parts as such, it's the guy I bought the car from who cleaned out his storage to make room for some Ferrari stuff as he is restoring a couple of old models... So, right now it's "expensive junk" taking up space. I've only browsed through the top 3 inches of each bucket so I have no idea what's in them.. I did however find an ECU and some other electronics..

Pictures --> SimpleViewer
Not the best quality photos, taken with my phone ..

My point is that if we had a "list" of what ppl usually pay for parts, it would be easier to set a value of some sorts..

Second hand pricing is down to the seller... I could have made 40% more on most of the stuff i've sold but i'd rather it went to someone who needs it to maintain their car. Alot of people overprice stuff anyway to try get as much as possible. My view is if its not needed then list it sensibly.
