Just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to buy the nylon pads that fit on the camshaft chain adjuster for an A4 20valve.
My version of ETKA doesn't show them as a separate part, but the illustration doesn't expand enough to show properly Can any kind person help ? Thanks John |

Position 14, what I suspect you think is the nylon thingy, is actually a rubber (or something) seal..
![]() The camshaft chain adjuster (4) comes as a unit... 058 109 217 B and sell for ~€145 in Germany. ![]() (20) is for engines with VVT (Variable Valve Timing), the old style for 2.6, 2.8 and 2.7T until they changed it to the new system with variable cam lift.

Thats excellent thank you very much.
the part I'm looking for is the nylon pads which appear on parts 15 (in first pic), 20 or 4 (in second pic), thye don't appear to available seperatley from Audi, although their is a source on ebay. I'm not sure of the quality but mine are shot, and the adjuster is definitely okay. Thanks again for your help. John |

I have read about several cases where the chain derailed/crumbled and in 9 out of 10 cases it resulted in a new engine fitted. The chain is used in most Audi engines from R4 to V10.
