Hammond, bless him, he's like a noisy little child that needs picking up and patting on the head.

Quite agree...

I suspect they (Top Gear) et-al, like to provoke reaction, to which they will then make mischief. Best bet is to ignore the comments and let it be, better that than pushing the quattro community into the Top Gear office radar... We don't want pianos dropped on one, or painted with homophobic slogans and destroyed do we...?

I always turn back to the 'wee K on the Tay' when I reach Acharn on a Sunday!!! No point in venturing further as you never know what you'll encounter the closer you get to the other K at the head of the loch......

"Same goes for the old Audi quattro. An utterly brilliant car, a landmark in many ways, but drive one today and you'll look like exactly like you are....which is someone keen to have things they coudn't have when they first saw them decades ago. Why not have mid-life crisis tattooed on your face?"

Call me daft but is'ent that what he has done with the JAG. Jumped up little prick

Duno, a different opinion for you......

I enjoy my quattros, as I have since my first in 1989, but I think things have moved on. We need cars that do more than they did in 1981. Aircon, cruise control, sat nav, 40+mpg, etc etc.

I think the quattro has becomes a weekend only car (not helped by the parts issue) in a similar way it can be compared to other classics MG`s, TVR and the like.

I often make the comparison to driving old cars is similar to bumping into an old girlfriend, what was good when you were 20 is often different now....

I am 35 and have owned my quattro since I was 29 so I hope that was not my mid life! Is any one who owns a classic car that once had a high price tag just too poor to own a new prestige car? I dont think so...How many quattro owners have new cars at home too? A fair few Ill bet. It would appear that any cars that the hamster owns are all cool and not pretensious and those he does not are just owned by the lower grasping classes... jumped up little twit.
