Default quattro sport - sport quattro?

I got a video from santa that talked about Stig staying with the A2 when the quattro sport came out until he secured his title (with the quattro sport engine), but then used the quattro sport at the end of the season. They went onto say that he did however start using the sport quattro as soon as it came out the next year....
I have never head of the quattro sport and sport quattro mentioned at the same time and was always told the quattro sport was a missprint. is this right?

badges on the back of the cars were Sport Quattro with the 'Sport' physically apove the 'Quattro' so i always assumed it was sport quattro... plus the text on the motorshow number plates says 'Audi Sport Quattro' as far as i'm aware 'Quattro Sport' is a mistake... but there are many more knowledgable than me on here... i just happen to be awake lol

Yep, 'sport quattro' is the correct way around......and what the hell am I doing up at this hour??!!

To give it it's correct title it is actually "Audi Sport" and then the "quattro", it is just that everyone has come to know of it as the Sport quattro.

surely if it was the Audi Sport......quattro, the audi and sport parts of the badging would've been closer together? that would be logical anyway, although logic is not audi's strong point LOL

Audi didn't commision it, Audi Sport did.

and where are the 200 LWB quattro's with the 20 valve sport engine?

Question

Audi had to build 200 homologation examples to sell to the general public. the 200 examples had to be the short arse version which had the 20v engine installed. the LWB as I remember had the 10v engine.

And there is my point, 216 sports were built 20 being e2's yet the dvd (which i got as a present and now feel guilty) said that stig used a LWB with a sport engine.
I really dont think so
I could work for duke and just correct the blatant gaffs in dialogue. its not like the info hasnt been around for 20 years

May 1st 1983 Audi Quattro-A2 Type: internationally recognised group B competition car.
Engine: in line 5 cylinder SOHC 2 valve per cyliner, aluminium head and cylinder block with cast iron dry liners set at 27.5' from vertical. Bore x stroke 79.3 x 86.4mm (2133cc) for basic homologation vehicle, but competition A2's appeares with 80.11 max bore size allied to 85.0mm stroke or minimum 79.51 bores. Homologated A2 capacity 2110cc multiplied by 1.4 turbo factor =2954cc, maximum allowable capacity2999cc blah blah blah...Group B prod cars had a KKK-K26 turbo, evo A2 had a KKK-K27.... so perhaps your reading that the A2 later had "sport engines could mean just the different capacity engines giving more power from these two different capacity 10v engines.

It wasnt until Sept 1983 that the Audi Quattro Sport (short wheelbase road coupe) appeared with a DOHC engine which also has a 2133cc capacity and KKK-K27 turbocharger.

Perhaps this help clarify what you mean?
