What I'm a little concerned about is that people are sometimes comparing 25-year-old rubber with poly, and that's a bit unfair on the stock system. Compare with brand new stock versions and the difference isn't so great.

I've known a lot of people say they wish they'd just replaced the stock rubber and not gone poly. One guy down Brentwood way a couple of years ago complained: \"Plays old Harry with me piles\".

I asked why he'd fitted them if he had piles. He said he hadn't had them until then ...
Singer?

In my case I replaced the old bushes on my MB with new OEM ones and months later replaced them with urethane. No two ways about it, road noise and harshness over bumps increase - a PITA if you planned doing 20K/annum as your repmobile, but for fun on a summer sunday it's tops....

Well she's hardly ever in the car with me. (which is very good!) However she's often seen galloping across country on a horse, which I can assure you is a far rougher ride that a urq on a few tarty urethane bushes

Have you noticed how when the horse sneezes 'er in doors has the vet on speed-dial within seconds but her car can have every warning light burning for months before she mentions that there might be something wrong?

Tell me about it - about £800 for a few visits and a few antibiotic injections to treat a suspected urinary infection in the spring. In my opinion (which counts for nothing if it involves the horse) there wasn't too much up with the animal in the first instance - certainly nothing that wouldn't have cured itself given a bit of time.

Horse vets are a disreputable bunch, (in the main) most see ailments as a blank cheque as often the bill is picked up by the insurance - many unnecessary visits are often arranged. We have a girl on our yard with 2 horses, she only insures one and the vets seem quite happy to treat the uninsured horse and provide falsified invoices appertaining to the other one - that's fraud in my book.

So what would you prefer, rubber, poly or ally and why, i,m looking at producing some in poly because everyone seems to rave about it (already make them in ally).

I'm not sure what LMS gets up to to destroy polybushes. They were originally developed in Australia for the 4wd's in the outback because the rubber ones didn't last 5 minutes when constantly tackling rough terrain.

Poly is just fine, been on my MB for years now and not showing any signs of wear. I don't do many miles in it but give it the gun around bends etc.
