And have they any reliable proof that the leads were shipped to you undamaged? I'd say that you're in with a chance, you need to formally write to them quoting S of G act and asking for a refund. My bet is that when they determine that you are serious they will refund you - they don't want too many disputes ending up at trading standards or the small claims court etc.
I think it's a fact that most manufacturers initially try to ''tough it out'' with the consumer because 95% cave in at the first hurdle.
